Just before they closed up shop a couple of their former employees, Dana and Ken Foster started their own version of Roadrunner. Their departure left a giant hole in LAX options. I used their various services many times and mostly loved ’em. Love ’em or hate ’em, they were ubiquitous around here. It’s been about three years since Roadrunner Shuttle discontinued their service in Ventura County. Advance reservations () are strongly suggested as their shuttles hold a maximum of 13 passengers. Ventura County Airporter Shuttle owner Clayton Vail, who started this business 30 years ago, says she soon hopes to be back up to the 13 roundtrips a day like they offered before the pandemic. If your flight home doesn’t jive with the shuttle schedule, you may be cooling your heels for a while. If their schedule forces you to arrive at the airport extra early, that’s never a bad idea anyway. To me, that works pretty well going to LAX. It’s a scheduled service that has stops in both of those cities and then makes a non-stop run to the airport. Ventura County Airporter Shuttle is only $48 each way. If you live in Oxnard or Ventura you’ve got access to the best bargain around. I’ve encompassed here a few new ideas and some oldies but goodies.
